Introduction by Nicholas A. Price
From the mid through late 20th Century, Americana was largely associated with nostalgia for an idealized life in small towns and small cities in America.
This collection of photographs is enormous and I have tried to show elements that highlight the overall story of what I have created.
The photographs on miles of film negative capture the history, geography, folklore and cultural heritage of the United States through the faces of the people and places I have encountered through my 17 years of traveling and photographing the United States.
These subjects appear to be stuck in the time warp of "the good old days" or maybe, they just cling to the strings that bind then to a far more solid foundation than what most people would consider as lost or weak today.
Many of the subjects in this collection no longer exist and therefore hold a special and poignant place in my heart and archives.
